Rest in Sweet Peace, Bob. Pamela Armstrong was so beautiful and a great interviewer.
I wish he hadn’t done this interview. The people who believe the worst of you in life are the people you can do without :( rip
This is heartbreaking to watch knowing that Bob did ultimately take his own life. I still love watching On the Buses to this day and Bob Grants Jack Harper is my favourite character
This is basically the curse of typecasting. Having come from a long running, successful sitcom, it's often hard to move on from the role that made you famous. The same happened to Harry H Corbett after Steptoe and Son. It really was tragic and I was sorry to hear that he committed suicide near his home in Tewksbury. How many of today's so-called comedy actors can hold a light to these people? RIP, Bob.
Oh dear oh dear.....calling the eastern block a socialist system??? They were full on full fat fckn commies. Old Willie Wooly realy was a sheep😆😆😆
So its quite similar to the british Marina behind you then Sue??? Oh the aire of British superiority. Would be changed days now with all the lefty bbc twats shooting their load over anything made by a commie😆😆😆
Can’t believe how posh he sounded 😳
I really felt so sorry for Bob. He was such an amazing actor, and very versatile in his craft. The acting world can be very cruel and dismissive. He brought so much joy to the world in the parts that he held as an actor. It was such a tragic end. It was so sad to see Bob so emotional at the end of this interview.
Sadly this is nothing new. When greed and avarice take over our lives this is what happens. We forget that nothing is guaranteed and life has downs as well as ups.
Christ! She looks hot even 37 years later! Wow!
The video is just as baffling as the song
I think all "aspiring" actors should be sat down and made to watch this first. I don't know if all acting schools make the students aware of how little control they will have of their careers. For example did Leah Bracknell leave acting school planning to waste the best years of her career playing a pyromanic schizophrenic lesbian vet in crappy 3rd rate soap "Emmerdale"???
God bless 😢
This is simply heartbreaking I just wanted to give him a massive hug. To speak about mental illness then on tv also must of been such a huge thing for him to do. Bob you still give me and many others much joy with on the buses and will always be remembered as a great man.
He had such a pleasant sounding voice. And was also a skilled actor and writer. He would have been great as a narrator of documentaries films. Instead of being typecast as a jack harper like character. May he and the rest of the cast rest in peace.
I work with Bob at the national theatre in 1981 a play by Nigel Williams He was a top gentleman Funny and good to be around JB aka pongo
My Nan had taped the Goonies off the T.V onto VHS and this Banger was on there. Interestingly I would have been 1 Years old at the time of this Ad. Nostalgia!
That John Miles looks like a good steady type that you wouldn’t mind bumping into down the pub. He’d always stand his round but you’d have to make sure you steered him off the subject of motoring during the evening!
I much prefer this era of top gear and not the 2000s with 3 show off men and not as much about cars
Meant to replace Tizwas. It got nowhere near it, terrible program
Such a shame, he could have been part of Eastendrs original cast easily
I vaguely remember On The Buses for being some old 70's sitcom but a Big Thumbs up to this bloke for being so brave to talk about his mental health problems back when it was never spoken about. I just Googled Bob Grant and was sad to find out that eventually he did commit suicide.
I used to love this show when I was 8,9,10ish. Must have been much later than 1970 cos I remember seeing it in colour.
Aw what a lovely man .❤
Is this driver training for driving in London in 2024 😅
My old man had the 2.3 Cortina ghia... Saw one at a classic car show. Really nothing to them so light in comparison to modern cars
Didn’t know he was posh
The Irish People loved Bob Grant and his Work also.
first year of Ed Stewart request show on radio 2 and much more music with David Symonds great times
Keep coming back to this just for 'Basically in Nottingham'
I think the interviewer needs to wear more in the way of scarves.
Brilliant episode when Top Gear wasn’t made for giggles. There’s definitely a place for both
We still all love you Bob. Gone but NEVER forgotten.
God bless your bob
Life is not easy. :(
Bloody isn't ☹️
To hear him talk about his struggles is so inspiring. Even 20 years ago it wasn’t as acceptable as today. You were still supposed to get over your depression. I hope he knows how much he has helped others and how much he was loved. RIP 😢
Poor man still had another 16 years of these depressive bouts to endure until he succeeded in ending it all in 2003. Thank you Bob for all the fun you brought to the world.
I keep thinking that Pamela Armstrong is Jan Ravens impersonating the former.
So incredibly sad hearing the interviewer saying ‘it’s not so bad and it’s going to get better’ knowing that it didn’t and he did eventually end his own life… life is just shit, usually for those who don’t deserve it… I hope you’ve found your peace Bob, I really do 🙏
I'd love to see the Star Wars take on the Clangers... of course it wouldn't be right (they'd probbly have a Death Bagpuss) but Mr Firmin and Mr Postgate would have had such fun!
He was really down.....and he was desperate. Poor Bob, he must have felt so alone.
Heartbreaking.
Aw Bob, wish someone could of helped you, such a heartbreaking thing to see
Amazing to see the Tyche Poland factory, now the main Fiat 500 and Panda production plant. The development of Poland since Solidarnosc, then EU membership in the early 00s. Just a few years ago Fiat 126s were commonplace along with the FSO now in Poland they are classics and a reminder of a previous age in a transformed country
